Strip , clean and re assemble with many images of the Weber 2V Carburetor from a From Escort MK3 MK4. See my other blog post for the complete repair manual.
This is how the carb looked before cleaning.
All Parts cleaned and ready for re assembly. I first cleaned with engine cleaner and a old toothbrush / hot water. The parts that I could not reached were cleaned with Battery Acid. NOTE: the acid eats away at the metal but does lift stubborn dirt , DO NOT leave the acid on too long , you can also pour a little acid into each hole.
The body , cleaned and ready.

Choke unit , as this unit was damaged I did not re install it , yes , extreme cold starting calls for some 'pumping' before starting but in our climate this is rare.
If not re installing choke unit , block this hole with rubber / epoxy.

Power valve assembly
Venturi assembly , note: orientate the tubes the correct way
Accelerator pump discharge tube
Accelerator pump one way valve modification: I inserted a rubber plug here, as I do not trust the top gasket to seal this hole

checking the float height , Note check the height with the gasket in place as shown.
Primary emulsion tube and air fuel jets , NOTE: small holes for the primary.
Secondary emulsion tube and air fuel jets , NOTE: large holes for the secondary.
