Convert a flashlight / torch to a emergency flashing beacon using 2 LED's. This can be done on any old flashlight that uses a bulb and has a voltage of 3 volt - 3.6 volt. Here Ive taken a old flashlight and given it new use , as a emergency flashing beacon using 2 LED's. After the conversion I left it on flashing for 6 days and nights , 144 hours.
A emergency beacon should always be carried with you in the car or on camping and hiking trips. Should a emergency arise the beacon can be used to direct help and rescues to your location. Should your vechile 'break down' a flashing beacon can alert other morists and possibly avoid a collision.
The original flashlight
After opening it up , make 2 holes and insert the red flashing LED's
Wires extended , insulated.
view of the LED's from the front
As these are super-bright LED's , the beacon can be seen from a +- 200 meters.
Video clip at night.
