After making my first joule thief torch I made this one with a built in solar cell to trickle charge the batteries , as its a emergency torch.
This joule thief flashlight use's a ferrite coil and easily powers the 3 LED's from 2 AA batteries.
The housing came from one of these "fake" push handle Chinese torches.
